Reflection on Observation Task 2
The teacher prepared children for listening through asking children some questions including” Are you happy?”, and even she acted having a happy face, sad face, mad face, stupid, silly “. Then she asked children about the cover of the story and she told them where the title of the story was and also, she explained to them that the English book opens from left to right.
Children understood more things from the pre-listening activity where they managed to know the feelings of the face, as a happy face, sad, mad and silly. Then they acted the feelings that they saw.
The teacher managed to prepare children through reading the story and she changed the sound of her voice and passes the book content among children to manage them to know what is found in the story.
Children listened to the teacher listening activity and that was with an aim of teaching children some feeling vocabulary. Not all children participated in the while listening activity through acting the feeling faces when the teacher says happy, some students act a happy face and others While the others who did not participate, surely they did not understand.
Children listened to the listening activity all the week round and that surely managed children to improve their listening abilities at the end of that week. The child listened to the story one day as a whole and another day part by part. The children managed to understand better through having part by part and that to avoid being bored.
If the teacher provided a post-listening activity, surely some students would understand better.
Pre, while and post listening is important and has more advantages to children. For example, managing children to listen to the right pronunciation and also learn from the repetition activity. However, the only disadvantage is the boring from the long period of listening.
