Visual Arts Lesson Plan

Reflection

Visual art is greatly importance and beneficial for children learning where children at their young age learn better through visual art. According to Prins (2008), Arts education contains four separate methods areas where each one has its own different aim and role of knowledge and skills where that include dance, drama, music and visual arts. Consequently, he showed that the basic starting place for arts integration could be achieved through a story. The teacher here can integrate visual arts side by side with language arts and providing children with a literature response activity usually does that. For example, after listening to the story, children are asked to draw a picture of their favorite character found in the story. (Prins, 2008). Also, others showed the importance of arts and if students can write or having a writing ability, it is better to ask them to write a sentence on the picture they drew. Even the children are still young; it is great to ask them to talk about the picture. For example, if one teaches feeling for children, ask them to find pictures for people who are happy or sad and others. (Hanly, 2015)
